We first start by removing all the hardware allowing for uniform stripping, sanding and refinishing. We then mask off all the glass in every door for protection. Lastly, repairs to smaller cracks in the wood are filled with epoxy. 

We try and avoid any chemical strippers and prefer to use a combination of hand and power tools to accomplish the removal of the old finish. We take extra care of the moldings, engravings and other unique features on your door. The process is long but worth it.

We custom mix all of our colors to match any accent color you like. We then apply at least 3 hand-rubbed coats of our oil finish, a mix of tung, linseed and other natural oils that also provide UV protection. Our finished product is a door that has a beautiful, rich, furniture grade finish that won't need to be stripped again.

In almost every case, we will remove the door before stripping it to ensure we are able to get every mold and detail. In this case, we paid special attention to the wood door insets to ensure we could finish the door evenly.

Our 3 coats of custom color oil finish provided extra protection while also deepening the quality and luster of the finish. In the end, this door will only need one maintenance coat a year to keep it looking like this for years to come!
